About Hair Loss
The medical term for male pattern hair loss is
Androgenetic Alopecia (common baldness), literally meaning “male, genetic, hair loss.” There are other forms and causes of hair loss, but Androgenetic Alopecia is by far the most common.
By the time most men realize they are losing their hair, they have already lost about fifty percent of their volume. For many men, this causes great distress because they feel thinning hair makes them look older and less attractive.
Fortunately, there are treatment options. They fall into three categories: medical, surgical, and cosmetic. Combined and by themselves they can be powerful tools to combat the hair loss problem.
